What our community says
At CompassionWorks, our mission is to inspire and activate compassion in schools, churches, and conferences. We teach with a heart, lead with a heart, and serve and live with compassion. Our greatest joy is seeing individuals and groups moved with compassion in all they do, just as Jesus was moved when he saw the crowds. Hear directly from those who have experienced the transformative power of our message.

The unexpected gift of compassion
"One semester, I applied compassionate pedagogy in my college classroom. The students made wonderful friends as they practiced self-compassion and compassion towards others. When I met a student, they were almost limping getting to class, there was so much excitement. I thought I was teaching them compassion, until, when I received so much compassion from my students when my mother passed midway through the semester. I thought I was giving and teaching compassion, not realizing what we give comes back to us! I received so much compassion from my students. I had so many flowers that I did not know how to carry them across campus. I got two handmade cards from college students just appreciating the class and the atmosphere that compassionate teaching created. I am forever changed; I want to teach from compassion."
